Broken Lantern Project, a worship band out of South Carolina, began simply through song-writing collaboration. While on the road leading worship and performing for the Get Real National Student Conference, (www.getrealconference.com) Chris Morris, Cassie Curtis, and manager Bill Curtis had the opportunity to begin writing songs and establishing a creative vision. The initiation of Broken Lantern Project in early 2013 actually marked the fourth year of ministry partnering among its members. After meeting and performing together in Get Real conferences, God called Chris to Florence, SC, to serve as Worship Pastor for Cornerstone Baptist Church (www.exit137.org), where Bill Curtis serves as Senior Pastor, and Cassie attends and serves in the worship ministry.

The songs of Broken Lantern Project speak both to the characteristics of God and to the realities of walking with Christ daily. The collaborators enjoy building on the truths of classic hymns to present similar themes in melodies and arrangements that are accessible to modern culture. The rhythms and stylistic qualities appeal to all ages with the band’s varied instrumentation and tight harmonies. Ultimately, through writing and sharing their songs, Broken Lantern Project seeks to cast far the perfect light and love of Jesus. “Let your light so shine before men that they might see it and glorify their Father in heaven.” Matthew 5:16.
